An Intentional Pause

Back in February 2022, I started a monthly blog. And I kept that up for 15 consecutive months! Then I switched to a bi-monthly schedule and stuck to that for four more posts. Now here I am with an unintentional year-long gap.

At first, this was because I was just so busy doing arts marketing that I ran out of time to write about it all. Then, I was busy with work and life. Then, the habit was broken.

Recently, one large projected ended and I thought it was finally time to get back to it. I even started drafting a post. However, I also started thinking about what this might look like in the long-term. Aside from concerns about bandwidth when things get busy again, I also wondered if the content I would contribute would be useful and meaningful to the field. I’ve already covered a number of topics that I’m passionate about and I know there are areas that I’m not expert enough to cover. What I don’t want to do is post just for posting’s sake.

Ultimately, I’ve decided to turn this unintentional pause into an intentional (and open-ended) one. If the right topic comes up, I’ll write about it here and share with my network, but in the meantime, I’m going to focus on the practice of arts marketing.

If you’d like to partner on a project, please contact me. As much as I enjoyed creating this blog series, doing the work is even more fun. Of course, if you haven’t read the past 19 posts, give them a read!
